For richer or poorer, good times and bad, in sickness and in health...
Today is our 28th wedding anniversary and if all had gone according to plan, we'd be walking out of Madison Square Garden in NYC after seeing Billy Joel. Overnight in the city, brunch tomorrow, then a quick flight back home. This was my Valentine's Day, Birthday, Anniversary gift to my wife..her bucket list concert!
Well, all didn't go according to plan. What I thought was allergies turned out to be COVID and at "nine o'clock on a Saturday", instead of being at the concert, we were watching funny animal videos with our daughter here at home.
Yeah, it sucks. Pretty unlucky...but the last twenty-eight years? I wouldn't trade one minute with her...the good times and bad, in sickness or in health. I could go on about her smile, the one I fell in love with, her heart that keeps me warm...instead I will say 'thank you' and I love you to the person that completes me, keeps me laughing, challenged, and on my toes.
We've been to plenty of concerts...we'll go to plenty more...and maybe it is lucky that we got COVID out of the way before we head to Spain, Morocco, and Portugal next month. I couldn't imagine going through this life with anyone else!
