CMMO | Marketing & Merchandising | I started my journey wanting to be a lawyer, but eventually discovered a passion for connecting with the consumer, whether through product or messaging. I am currently using my 30+ years of industry experience to drive value and an engaging experience for a purpose driven US Navy command serving patrons around the globe.
CONNECTOR OF DOTS | Over the years, I have come to love connecting passionate, talented, engaging people and watching the sparks fly. Want to know a secret? I don't define success by my own accomplishments. Success is when I see two (or more) people having an productive dialogue, and I realize that I was lucky enough to be the person who connected them.
PURPOSE DRIVEN | I am a strong believer in diversity & inclusion, the power of talented teams, mentoring & life long learning. I have always believed in these issues, but recently have started to migrate from being "passively supportive" to playing more of an active role in creating opportunities. When I step away from this stage of my career - success will be measured by the talent and diversity of the team that takes over.
LIFE LONG GOALS | Being a better human, husband, & dad. Always be listening and learning. Leave the world a better place than I found it. This has led me to focus on developing talent at work, teaching at the college level, and starting a podcast which allows me to share conversations with some incredibly talented and diverse industry experts.
Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail, but I keep trying...
LIFE MANTRA | I have several and they shift from time to time, but consistently, "There is always a solution" and recently, "Keep the faith." I believe there is a solution to most problems that we face, if we are proactive. I believe that we are strengthened if we maintain faith in ourselves and in those around us.
FAVORITE QUOTE | "Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary." - Cecil Beaton
